National Monuments

National Monuments are described as sites that either have cultural or scientific significance. These sites typically tell us of the history of Native Americans and the settlers who came to these lands during the growth or our nation. A lot of National Monuments are on or at scared tribal grounds and hold clues to how those cultures grew and developed over millennia. Other sites are scientific locations where fossils have been discovered pre-dating human history. These sites can typically show how the earth has changed over millions of years and how closely related the different parts of the world truly are.
